Dr Farmer has been a dentist for 11 years and he’s been part of the Hills Dental team for more than 5 years. He was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry for three main reasons – a love of mechanics and tools, a love of health and the human body, and most importantly, he likes connecting with and helping people. 

When asked what he most enjoys about his work, Alastair says it’s the trust he develops with patients and staff and the sense of belonging and purpose in the Adelaide Hills community. 

Outside of the practice, Alastair is kept busy with his two children, Harry and Lucy, and his wife Chantel, who is a teacher at the local school. He also enjoys working outdoors maintaining and improving the family home. At heart, Alastair is a self-confessed “projects man”. So, he always has a project or two on the go!
